6 common mistakes in mushroom cultivation

First, the pre-wet is not sufficient: the straw should be fully soaked for fermentation. When the straw is not fully immersed, it needs a lot of water to make up the water. It can't make up the water before the second turn. It will be difficult to make up afterwards, which will affect the growth of hyphae.

Second, the uneven stacking: when turning over the pile should be based on the principle of “raw material in the middle, clinker on both sides; two in the middle, and the middle in the middle”. However, many people do not follow the above principles when they turn over, so that the fermentation material is not fermented uniformly, and the purpose of turning over is not achieved.

3. Unqualified soil excavation: Some growers use untreated vegetable garden soil when they cover the soil, and some add insufficiently decomposed cow dung. Such soils carry a large number of germs and eggs, which are prone to cause a variety of diseases and cause losses to mushroom growers.

4. Adding urea when covering soil: New growers can habitually equate mushroom planting with other crops, and add urea when covering soil, causing excessive ammonia to cause hyphal death.

5. Spraying “closed water”: spraying “closed water” during high temperature in the early stage of mushroom planting will cause high humidity environment, causing the phenomenon of hyphae, colony and mushroom death. When the "closed water" is sprayed in the later stage, the hyphae are easily degraded and prematurely deteriorated.

Sixth, disease prevention is not timely: Due to the lack of basic identification and prevention of pests and diseases, some growers often start to prevent and control when the pests and diseases are heavier, so that they miss the best prevention period and reduce production severely.
