With the rapid development of numerical control equipment at home and abroad, the application of the corresponding functional component ball screw has become more and more extensive, and the demand has increased rapidly. Under the premise of ensuring the quality, in order to shorten the delivery cycle of the ball screw and reduce the production cost, our technicians have challenged the traditional process after years of groping tests, and tried the cold-drawn polishing material to replace the spheroidized annealed blank for many years. The ball screw has been processed and it has been put into production in batches after repeated trial and error.
Process comparison
The comparison of new and old processes is shown in Table 1.
2. Performance and price comparison
(1) Performance From the foreign data, product analysis and domestic counterparts, the core of the screw is spheroidized annealed or normalized, the hardness of the core is 9 ~ 12HRC, and the cold drawn spheroidizing annealing The core structure and hardness of the material are consistent, which meets the requirements of the ball screw industry for the standard heat treatment standard of the ball screw material, which can meet the user's requirements. Pre-heat treatment of ball screw and nut blank can be spheroidized, tempered, normalized and other processes according to different materials and requirements, and executed according to JB/GQ1063 standard. Through trial production, we found that when the core hardness is 9 ~ 12HRC, the lead screw is easy to bend during quenching and subsequent grinding. By negotiating with the steel mill, the hardness of the core is increased to above 18 HRC, and the adjustment of the quenching method and the heating parameters are adjusted to ensure the performance of the screw. These problems have been basically solved.
(2) The price can be seen from the process flow. After the cold-drawn spheroidized annealing polishing material and the cold-drawn tempered hardness polishing material, the quenching and tempering, semi-finishing, stress removal, and raceway outer rough grinding can be omitted. Process. Take a S101-01-301 lead screw produced by our factory as an example. The price comparison is shown in Table 2 and Table 3:
3. Advantages and disadvantages
Advantages: 1 can increase production efficiency and shorten the production cycle by about 8 to 10 days. 2 significantly reduce production costs. 3 The process moves from traditional large and omni-directional fine machining. Disadvantages: 1 There are fewer domestic suppliers. 2 Spheroidized annealed structures of more than 60 mm in domestic steel mills cannot guarantee quality. 3 Due to the low hardness of the spheroidized annealing polishing material, its comprehensive mechanical properties such as torque, strength and stiffness are lower than that of the tempered state, which limits its application in the fields of precision machine tools and large aspect ratios. Through many trials and researches with our steel mills, we have now tempered hardness polishing materials have arrived at the factory, expanding the space for the application of polishing materials.
4. Conclusion
It can be seen from the above analysis that although there are still many problems in the application of cold-drawing and polishing materials in the ball screw industry, through continuous efforts to improve the material state and adjust the thermal processing technology, its application will be the ball screw. Development brings greater development prospects!
