China's exports of mechanical and electrical products will reach 940 billion US dollars in 2010

On December 16, 2010, Zhang Jingjing, president of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechanical and Electrical Products, said that the export volume of China's mechanical and electrical products is expected to reach 940 billion US dollars in 2010, a year-on-year growth rate of 30%, and is expected to become the world's largest exporter of mechanical and electrical products. .

In China's trade structure, mechanical and electrical products have maintained the status of the first category of export commodities for 16 consecutive years. In recent years, the export of mechanical and electrical products has accounted for 60% of the total foreign trade.

According to the data provided by the Electromechanical Chamber of Commerce, in the first 11 months of 2010, China's imports and exports of mechanical and electrical products reached 1.4 trillion US dollars, an increase of 34.3%. Among them, exports were 842.74 billion US dollars, accounting for 59.2% of foreign trade exports during the same period, an increase of 32.7% over the same period of last year, an increase of 10.9% over the same period of 2008. At present, China's mechanical and electrical products have been exported to 225 countries and regions around the world.

Zhang Yujing said that China's exports of mechanical and electrical products have fully recovered to the level before the financial crisis. However, while the scale of exports continues to expand, China is also facing a situation in which independent intellectual property rights and core technologies are few and world-renowned brands are missing.

Vice Minister of Commerce Jiang Yaoping said at the press conference that China's mechanical and electrical products still have obvious comparative advantages. Exports face rare historical opportunities, but at the same time they also face weak independent innovation, product homogeneity, and lack of overseas marketing networks. Risks and challenges such as weak brand building, increasing trade frictions and unreasonable structures.

He pointed out that accelerating the restructuring of export structure of mechanical and electrical products is an important starting point for transforming the development mode of China's foreign trade. During the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, China will vigorously implement the strategy of winning by quality, strengthen the combination of trade and industry, enhance the core competitiveness of trade; promote market diversification strategy, increase the proportion of exports in emerging markets; vigorously cultivate independent brands and cultivate China A new international competitive advantage centered on technology, quality, brand and service.
