The fruit expansion period of apple is the late stage of fruit growth. Fruit development and flower bud differentiation are carried out simultaneously. It requires a lot of carbohydrates and water, which is the “critical period” of water, and the suitable soil relative humidity is 70%. Drought or excessive water will affect the development of the fruit. Therefore, we must master the water balance in this period, control the excessive fluctuation of soil moisture, promote the normal development of the fruit, and ensure high yield and quality.

Apple expansion management measures:

1. Take effective measures to prevent wind and reduce fruit loss. After the rain, timely draining and cultivating to prevent wet damage, so as to avoid causing the branches to grow slightly, the canopy is closed, the ventilation and light transmission are poor, and the fruit is swollen. Insufficient illumination in rainy weather also affects flower bud differentiation and will increase pests and diseases.

2, orchard in the hilly area, the soil water retention capacity is poor, like the red Fuji fruit tree, the ability to withstand drought and suffocation is very weak, pay attention to water management.

3, reasonable summer pruning, the degree of pruning should be light, sparse new shoots and straight branches, improve ventilation and light conditions, promote nutrient accumulation, but also help control tree potential, promote branch maturity and flower bud differentiation.

4, timely inspection of bagging apples during the expansion period of weather changes, rain more, after heavy rain, wind, if the vent hole is found in the small bag of water, should promptly cut the vent hole properly, to eliminate stagnant water. If you find daily burning, pathogen infection and insect sting, take measures as soon as possible to ensure successful bagging.

5, mowing the manure in the orchard with good sensation and summer rain, wild grass and artificially planted clover grow fast, should cut grass deep and cover, to protect and reduce ground temperature, improve soil organic matter content.

6, timely leaf fertilizer, especially organic calcium fertilizer and potassium fertilizer. For newly planted orchards that are less than the spring in the spring, it is necessary to ridge in time, with a ridge height of 25-30 cm and a ridge width of 2 m. Before ridges, the base fertilizer can be applied to the plant between the plants (20-30 cm from the trunk) at a rate of 10 kg of decomposed farmyard manure + 0.05 kg of urea + 0.2 p of calcium phosphate (or calcium magnesium phosphate).
