Chemical weeding in cotton fields is a routine technical measure in cotton production. But in the actual production, many people in the use of herbicides in the presence of many problems, resulting in reduced weeding effect, cotton and even cause injury. Experts reminded farmers that the following aspects should be noted when chemically weeding in cotton fields:
First, we must pay attention to increase water consumption. The herbicide control effect on weeds has a lot to do with the amount of liquid. Insufficient amount of liquid can cause the surface to form a film or uneven soil, which affects the herbicidal effect. Generally, the amount of liquid used per acre should be controlled at 30-40 kg. When the soil is dry, the water consumption should be appropriately increased to ensure the control effect.
Second, we must pay attention to the choice of application period. The use of amide herbicides such as acetochlor should be sprayed before emergence of cotton after sowing. Generally, the film is applied immediately after sowing or the method of spraying with the lid is applied. The use of trifluralin should be applied 3-5 days before sowing of cotton to avoid sowing immediately after spraying to avoid phytotoxicity.
Third, we must pay attention to the choice of the herbicide. According to the occurrence characteristics of weeds in cotton fields, the herbicides currently applicable to cotton fields mainly include amide herbicides such as acetochlor and alachlor, and aniline herbicides such as trifluralin. In the cotton field dominated by monocotyledonous weeds, acetochlor herbicides may be used, and in the cotton fields where monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds are mixed, trifluralin is preferred.
Fourth, we must pay attention to the scientific application of pesticides . No matter which type of herbicide is used, it must be sprayed evenly at one time, and it cannot be re-sprayed or leaked. After spraying acetochlor, people and animals should be prevented from trampling, destroying the film and affecting the effect. After spraying trifluralin, it is necessary to carry out the mixing in time. It should be applied after the sputum and sputum in the cotton field to avoid applying the medicine before the sputum to prevent the soil from being too deep and causing cotton phytotoxicity. At the same time, Fluorin is easy to decompose when it sees light, and it can't be sprayed directly on the surface before sowing, so as not to reduce the herbicidal effect.
Fifth, we must pay attention to the appropriate amount of medication. The use of herbicides for chemical weed control should strictly control the amount of use, especially the blind dose should not be increased to prevent phytotoxicity. Generally 50% acetochlor EC is 75-100ml per acre, and 48% trifluralin EC is 120-150g per acre. The sandy soil cotton field has a low limit and the clay cotton field has a high limit.
