Iron/coil coating has always been based on polyester-amino, acrylic-amino and epoxy-ester-amino oil-based paints. In recent years, many companies have also devoted themselves to the research, development and promotion of water-based systems. However, whether the oil or water system, the film shrinkage problem is the most common, is also a common phenomenon. Through the past few years in the industry, I have been able to find a solution to the causes and solutions of the shrinkage problem and I would like to share it with my peers. one. The reasons for shrinkage:
1. Ingredients such as paint formulations, composition, etc., produce shrinkage holes.
The formation of insoluble colloidal particles in the coating composition leads to shrinkage, such as the change of the solubility between the resin and the solvent, resulting in the formation of a small amount of particulate insoluble material; the surface active material in the coating composition is incompatible with the coating, or the surface activity During the drying process of a substance, the concentration of the substance changes and exceeds its solubility, resulting in a small amount of immiscible droplets that cause shrinkage.
A. The air surface has active particles, paint fog, dust, water vapor and so on.
B. Oil, dust, moisture from construction tools.
two. Shrinkage hole pattern:
1. The formation of insoluble colloidal particles in the coating composition causes shrinkage, which is a point type.
2. Oil pollution mainly causes crater-type shrinkage.
3. Substrate treatment is not clean, there are oil contamination, moisture, dust and other contaminants, will lead to exposed-type shrinkage.
4. The bubble collapses in the wet film and subsequent film formation without coating film level results in bubble shrinkage.
three. Iron printing factory, coating workshop easily lead to shrinkage for several reasons:
1. The oil droplets floating in the air in the factory are generated by the exhaust of the drying room (the remaining fuel, the misty resin produced during baking).
2. If accompanied by moisture, shrinkage is more likely to occur. In the metal drying room, the exhaust gas is in the upper central part of the drying room. When fresh air is added, it is just inhaled at the entrance of the drying room. The foreign matter in the factory is concentrated at the entrance. Therefore, from the plate coated by the handpiece to the inlet of the drying room, the oil droplets here will adhere to the surface of the plate and cause shrinkage.
For example, in the Pearl River Delta and along the coast of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, the shrinkage of the above conditions is most likely to occur in the wet and dry weather season.
For the solution, here are some points to summarize:
1. Improve the ventilation and ventilation system of the coating shop to keep the normal dry humidity and irregular rotation of the air flow in the workshop;
2. Keep the construction site and construction tools clean;
3. Choose a coating with strong anti-cratering ability or choose a suitable anti-crater agent to add to the coating.
