The research on nano-catalytic materials for new energy, which was completed by researcher Lu Canzhong, Fujian Institute of Material Structure, Chinese Academy of Sciences, passed the expert acceptance organized by the Institute of Basic Research.
The project focuses on the scientific and technical issues of new nanocatalyst materials for the efficient conversion and development of new energy sources of chemical energy. The nanocatalytic materials for the preparation of ethylene glycol series products on carbon monoxide, and the metal chalcogenide nanocatalysts for water photolysis hydrogen production. A series of achievements have been made in fuel cell non-precious metal nanoelectrode catalytic materials. The carbon monoxide developed by the project efficiently prepares a new series of nano-catalytic materials for ethylene glycol. The comprehensive catalytic performance index has reached the international leading level. The 10,000-ton coal-based ethylene glycol won the 2009 China Academy of Sciences Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Award.
