Principle of refrigeration
The gaseous refrigerant (such as Freon) is compressed into a high-temperature and high-pressure gas by a compressor, and then enters the condenser, and is subjected to isothermal heat exchange with water (air) to become a low-temperature high-pressure liquid. The liquid working medium is removed by a drying filter to remove water and impurities, and is throttled and decompressed into the expansion valve to become a low-temperature low-pressure liquid working medium, which is vaporized in the evaporator. The liquid gasification process absorbs the latent heat of vaporization, and the liquid pressure is different, and the saturation temperature (boiling point) is also different. The lower the pressure, the lower the saturation temperature. For example, 1kg of water has an absolute pressure of 0.00087MPa and a saturation temperature of 5°C. It needs to absorb 2488.7KJ of heat when gasification; 1kg of ammonia needs to absorb 1369.59 at a standard atmospheric pressure (0.10133MPa). KJ heat, the temperature can reach -33.33 °C. Therefore, as long as a certain low pressure condition is created, the required low temperature can be obtained by vaporization of the liquid. According to this principle, the gasification process draws heat from the chilled water to lower the temperature of the chilled water (generally down to 7 ° C). The refrigerating medium absorbs heat in the evaporator, and the temperature rises to become superheated steam, and enters the compressor to repeat the cycle. Vapor compression refrigeration systems are mainly divided into water-cooled and air-cooled, as shown in Figure 2-1 and Figure-2.

Air-cooled refrigeration system (Figure) Refrigeration compressor is an important equipment for vapor compression refrigeration. There are many forms of refrigeration compressors. According to different working principles, they can be divided into two categories: volumetric refrigeration compressors and centrifugal refrigeration compressors. At present, the commonly used compressors mainly include piston compressors, scroll type, screw type and centrifugal type compressors, as shown in Figure 2-3.
The volumetric refrigeration compressor compresses the metered gas that is periodically sucked in by changing the volume of the working chamber. Commonly used volumetric refrigeration compressors include reciprocating piston refrigeration compressors and rotary refrigeration compressors.
The centrifugal refrigeration compressor continuously compresses the sucked gas by the action of centrifugal force. This type of compressor has a high number of revolutions and a large refrigeration capacity. At present, the single-unit refrigeration capacity of Freon centrifugal refrigeration compressors for foreign air conditioners is as high as 30,000 kW.
