US research and development of nanoparticle graphene composite fuel cell catalyst

Researchers at the US Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Princeton University, and Washington State University, Pullman, have combined graphene with metal oxide nanoparticles to develop a nanoparticle graphene composite fuel cell catalyst. Published online in the American Chemical Society.

They first crystallized the indium tin metal oxide nanoparticles directly onto the specially treated graphene, then added nanoplatinum and tested the properties of the material. The experimental results show that platinum atoms are concentrated on the graphite surface without the addition of indium tin oxide, but platinum can be well spread after the addition of indium tin oxide. The composite material has superior durability, stability and corrosion resistance than graphene alone and commonly used activated carbon. Researchers believe the results of this study will help improve the design of fuel cells.

The team is currently testing the effectiveness of the composite catalyst in experimental fuel cells to determine its effectiveness and durability under real conditions.

(5) Production by cold heading process. It is recommended to use high-speed cold heading machine and high-speed wire rolling machine or high-speed planetary wire rolling machine. High speed is emphasized here to ensure product quality. Only the head of tapping screw produced by high-speed machine is well formed and the thread quality is high.
