China's non-metallic mineral production increased rapidly in 2011

Business agency Feb. 6th: Wang Wenli, secretary-general of the China Non-metallic Minerals Industry Association, stated that in 2011, most of the non-metallic minerals that have proven reserves in China have been developed and utilized, and have formed certain mining and processing capabilities. Among them, talc, fluorspar, graphite, bentonite, gypsum, kaolin and other production rank among the top in the world. Non-metallic minerals have a rapid increase in production capacity, especially those with higher attention such as fluorite and graphite. In 2011, the scale graphite flake production capacity will reach 1 million tons, and it will increase in 2012.

In 2011, the output of fluorspar products was about 6.55 million tons, an increase of 35.49% over the same period of last year, but the price fell and fell below 2,000 yuan/ton. The investment in graphite has not diminished. The production capacity of flake graphite has reached about 1 million tons, and the output has been about 700,000 tons. The total annual production of chrysotile asbestos is 386,000 tons, which is slightly lower than that in 2010; short fiber asbestos still accounts for a very high proportion in the product mix, and domestic asbestos sales have significantly decreased compared to the same period of last year. The annual output of wollastonite is 745,500 tons, and the total sales volume is 688,800 tons, of which, 49.40 million tons are exported, a year-on-year increase of 6.50%. The overall production and operation of the talc industry improved slightly, with annual production of about 2.1 million tons. The total output of magnesium products and ores reached 33.501 million tons, an increase of 3.60% year-on-year. Kaolin production is about 3.2 million tons, which is basically the same as in 2010.
