The main feature of the harmonic reducer is that the flexible element can be controlled by elastic deformation to transmit motion and power. The volume is small and the precision is high, but the disadvantage is that the flexible wheel has limited life, is not resistant to impact, and the rigidity is relatively poor compared with the metal parts. The input speed cannot be too high.

The type of common reducer has a worm gear reducer. Its main feature is that it has a reverse self-locking function, which can have a large reduction ratio. The input shaft and the output shaft are not on the same axis. Generally, the volume is large and the transmission efficiency is not high. The accuracy is not high.
